Dr. John Story, Psy.D., is an amiable, highly skilled psychology professor, who views Marriage Counseling as "fun."  Dr. Story's delightful sense of humor and his compassion for hurting individuals are unique assets in his therapy.  Dr. Story's fun-loving personality helps people relax and look more clearly at their problems and then work together on the solutions to their difficulties.
 
Dr. Story has been a psychology professor at BCTC since 1994, and also has 18 years of experience in various counseling settings since earning his doctorate.  Dr. Story has special expertise in mentoring male adolescents and in helping marriages thrive.  Sometimes a guy just wants to talk to another guy about his problems, and Dr. Story has a unique way of making men feel comfortable and understood.
 
Dr. Story has volunteered countless hours at a residential home for the mentally disabled, and he leads support groups at his church for various addiction problems, as well as teaching marriage seminars.  You will find Dr. Story to be knowledgeable about all areas of psychological, relational, and spiritual health and he integrates all these aspects expertly.
 
On the personal side, Dr. Story is happily married to his wife, Brenda, for 24 years, and their son is a college student.  For those of you who are techno buffs, you will find common ground with Dr. Story because of his extensive gaming and tech gadgetry hobbies.
